Like many others, and perhaps you as well, I care deeply about the future of Israel as a thriving and dynamic Jewish state. That’s why I invite you to join our friends across the country who are committed to helping the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa protect and promote the well-being of Israel’s citizens, its neighbors in the region, and people here in the U.S. and around the globe through transformative medical innovation.
The Rambam Medical Center exemplifies our highest values, providing treatment for all regardless of race, religion, nationality, or socio-economic status. Rambam maintains the highest standards and integrity while providing for the comprehensive medical needs of two million Israeli citizens, IDF soldiers on Israel’s northern border, as well as U.S. servicemen and women, and peace keeping forces in the region. I am also proud to share that our grandson is a lone soldier in the IDF, and it gives me comfort to know that if ever needed, the medical team at Rambam will be there for him too.
As if that wasn’t enough, Rambam’s prolific medical research activities are at the forefront of such fields as stem cell therapies, cardiovascular care, and medical imaging – contributing to breakthroughs that have impacted the lives of millions around the world.
The American Friends of the Rambam Medical Center provides critical support to the most vitally important hospital complex in Northern Israel.
- Our generous friends support innovative research and medical device development through fellowship and scholarship programs.
- To meet the needs of Israel’s growing families, our generous donors have helped make Rambam’s exciting campus expansion possible. They have helped built and renovate hospital departments, patient rooms, and laboratories, including in the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital, the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital, and underway the new Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital and Helmsley Health Discovery Tower.
- Our generous donors help support Rambam’s ability to save lives by funding the replacement and purchase of modern medical equipment in such departments as emergency medicine, intensive care, pediatrics, and obstetrics.
If you are looking for a cause that is meaningful, uplifting, engaging and deeply satisfying, I invite you to join the American Friends of Rambam, which offers a rare opportunity to give of ourselves, and get so much in return!
In friendship,
Meri Barer
