Amir Kugelman, MD leads the Department of Neonatology and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Rambam Health Care Campus’ Children’s Hospital. The NICU provides a wide range of treatments using the most advanced technologies and techniques; some unique to Rambam, including neurosurgery, cardiac surgery on newborns to correct congenital heart defects, identification and treatment of metabolic diseases, and congenital nephrology disorders, to name a few. The department carries out a wide range of research activities, including innovative therapies and evidence-based research that is being published in the world’s leading pediatrics journals.

Rambam Health Care Campus is a 1,000 bed academic hospital located in the beautiful, Mediterranean coastal city of Haifa in Northern Israel. As the most advanced facility in the region, Rambam serves a population of two million residents regardless of race, religion, nationality, or socio-economic status.
