First Impact Factor for Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal
Rambam Health Care Campus is pleased to advise that Clarivate, the sole authority for calculating impact factors (IFs), has announced a 2022 IF of 1.6 for Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal (RMMJ). The score is based on a calculation of a journal’s selected citations over time and is one tool used to reflect a journal’s general importance. The journal’s 2022 CiteScore by SCOPUS was also impressive, at 2.6.
For a small, quarterly journal that averages only 6–8 publications per issue, these achievements are impressive. Furthermore, RMMJ is indexed by all the major players in the field. Receipt of an IF reflects RMMJ’s success in expanding the knowledge base of medicine, science, humanity, and ethics worldwide, flavored by the salt of the 800-year-old philosophy of Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon—the Maimonides.
Published four times a year with contributions from physicians and scientists worldwide, the journal charges no submission nor publication fees.
Rambam particularly thanks the team that has contributed to this outstanding achievement: Editor-in-Chief Professor Shraga Blazer, Associate Editor Itamar Ashkenazi, and Editorial Assistant Deborah Hemstreet.
