The Joseph Fishman Oncology Center
Supporting Cancer Care with Dignity
The Joseph Fishman Oncology Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in northern Israel and the exclusive primary referral center for the region’s 2.8 million people. It is certified by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) as an integrated multidisciplinary center for cancer treatment.

In hospitals with a dedicated oncology ER, only 20% of cancer patients end up hospitalized. Where they must rely on a general ER, 80% do.
Cancer Care for an Entire Region
Opened in June 2016 on Rambam’s West Campus, the Oncology Center treats more than 5,000 new patients every year, and each year its teams perform 20,000 to 25,000 chemotherapy treatments and over 40,000 radiotherapy treatments. A multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses provides every patient with a personalized plan for diagnosis and treatment, with access to the most advanced pharmaceuticals available.

Research That Reaches the World
Rambam’s cancer specialists are at the forefront of vital cancer research, including studies of innovative drugs, biological treatments for cancer, and radiation therapy using new technologies. The unique ecosystem between Rambam and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology facilitates translational and clinical oncological research to find cures, bringing new hope to children and adults around the world afflicted by cancer.

The Danny and Cathy Rosenkranz Oncology ER
Advanced anti-cancer therapies have dramatically increased survival, but they often leave patients immunosuppressed and in need of intense, focused acute care. For years, Rambam treated some 10,000 cancer patients annually in its general emergency room, exposed to patients with a wide array of illnesses, including infectious diseases.
Thanks to the generosity of Danny and Cathy Rosenkranz, the Oncology ER opened in January 2024 as the first of its kind in northern Israel, with 16 treatment stations serving some 5,000 patients a year. Within the Oncology Center itself, it gives cancer patients the immediate response, oncology expertise, and comprehensive care they require. Clinical studies show what that means: fewer complications, better outcomes, and far fewer hospitalizations.
A Founding Role in Cancer Care
Support opportunities span every part of the Oncology Center’s work, from research to patient care, and gifts toward equipment for the Rosenkranz Oncology ER, from special beds to infusion pumps and monitors, are always welcome.
If bringing world-class cancer care to the people of northern Israel is a cause close to your heart, there are many ways you can make an impact.
