Maintaining Good Ties: Isaac Herzog, Chairman of the Jewish Agency Visits Rambam
Isaac Herzog, Chairman of The Jewish Agency for Israel, made a working visit to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa on Sunday, September 2.
Herzog toured a number of points of interest in the hospital, accompanied by Rambam’s Director, Professor Rafi Beyar and Dr. Esty Golan, Managing Director of International Relations and Chief of Strategic Development. The tour included a visit to the Joan and Sanford Weill Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital, directed by Professor Myriam Ben-Arush. There, Herzog met with doctors who came to Israel as part of the “Experience Israel,” a program that brings Jewish medical doctors from abroad so they can get first-hand experience in Israeli hospitals, thereby encouraging their immigration to and absorption in Israel.
Professor Beyar briefed Herzog on the hospital’s latest advancements, in particular the work underway to complete the Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital, the Helmsley Health Discovery Tower—a unique cooperation between Rambam, University of Haifa, and the Technion, and the most recent opening of the Radiology Institute and installation of two new linear accelerators in the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center.
