Rambam Bracing for War in the North

Recent weeks have brought Israel closer to war with Hezbollah and we urge you to join us in helping Rambam prepare for this national emergency.

Please donate today and help us support Rambam in establishing a new fortified intensive care unit.

Since October 8, Hezbollah has fired more than 5,000 rockets, anti-tank missiles, and explosive UAVs at Israeli civilian and military targets in the north.

As worries mount, Rambam Medical Center has conducted full-scale emergency drills in cooperation with MDA, Israel’s equivalent to the Red Cross, as well as with hospitals who have limited or no fortification against rocket attacks. Rambam, a 1,100-bed medical center, is prepared to transfer its patients to its fortified underground emergency hospital, in addition to absorbing critically ill patients from other hospitals, and casualties of war.

Based on Hezbollah drone footage, it is likely the medical center and the surrounding area will be targeted. Therefore, Rambam’s underground hospital – capable of housing 8,000 people, is of the utmost importance in:

  • Treating wounded soldiers and civilians
  • Protecting and caring for the needs of medical staff and their families
  • Protecting and caring for the residents in the neighborhood around Rambam.

The IDF Northern Command has informed Rambam that the medical center must be prepared to treat the wounded during 50 days of continuous missile attacks without outside assistance. This grave scenario will mean operating rooms will be running 24/7.

This is a daunting challenge, but with our friends and partners, we can ensure Rambam’s heroic frontline healthcare workers and physicians have the resources necessary to save lives during Israel’s darkest hours.
