March 18, 2025 – Two specialist nurses from Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel traveled to North Macedonia today as part of a national humanitarian delegation responding to Sunday’s devastating nightclub fire.
Following the tragic fire in the town of Kočani, Israel dispatched a medical aid delegation comprised of experts from hospitals across the country. This morning (Tuesday, March 18), Yara Halabi and Romeo Maroon, burn care nurses from Rambam’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, joined the mission.
The fire, which broke out early Sunday morning, claimed numerous lives and left dozens injured with varying degrees of severity.
Led by Dr. Rami Sagi from the Hospitals’ Division at Israel’s Ministry of Health, the delegation includes specialists in burns, intensive care, orthopedics, and nursing.
As Northern Israel’s only Level-1 Trauma Center, Rambam has extensive experience in disaster and trauma care, providing critical aid to victims of mass casualty incidents worldwide.
