From Discovery to Care: A New Chapter for Rambam and Technion

At American Friends of Rambam, we are proud to celebrate a transformative new partnership that will help bring medical discoveries closer to the patients who need them most.

Rambam Health Care Campus and the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology have established the Andrea and Lawrence Wolfe Center for Translational Medicine and Engineering. Located within Rambam’s Helmsley Health Discovery Tower, the new Center will unite physicians, scientists, and engineers around one shared goal: turning urgent clinical needs into practical advances in patient care.

The Center will occupy two floors of the Tower and support advanced work in artificial intelligence, biochips, targeted drug delivery and molecular therapies, medical devices, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and healthcare operations. By placing these disciplines together at Rambam, the initiative is designed to make collaboration more immediate and impactful. A question that arises in a patient’s room can inform a research project; a promising idea from the laboratory can move more efficiently toward real-world treatment.

This model reflects what makes Rambam such a vital institution. Our physicians and clinical teams understand firsthand the challenges patients face every day. Working alongside Technion researchers and engineers, they can help ensure that innovation is shaped by genuine medical need, with the potential to improve diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and the overall patient experience.

The Wolfe Center also builds on a deep and enduring relationship between Rambam and the Technion. For roughly two decades, the two institutions have worked to strengthen the connection between clinical medicine, scientific research, and engineering. This new Center gives that shared vision a dedicated home and expands its possibilities for the future.

We are deeply grateful to Andrea and Lawrence Wolfe for the generosity and vision that made this initiative possible. Their support recognizes that the most meaningful breakthroughs often happen when expertise crosses traditional boundaries—and when bold ideas are supported by those who believe in their potential.

For American Friends of Rambam, this is an inspiring example of what philanthropy can achieve. The Andrea and Lawrence Wolfe Center will not simply be a place for research. It will be a dynamic hub where collaboration can lead to solutions that improve lives in Haifa, throughout Israel, and around the world.
