American Friends of Rambam Medical Center (AFORAM) held its first ever young professionals event at the internationally known HaSalon NYC on January 10. The event was organized by new board member, Joyce Chabbott, and Director of the Northeast, Ellen Pomerantz. Additionally, Nathaniel Goldman, Chief Financial Officer of AFORAM, also joined in the spirited evening to attract the next generation of strong pro-Israel friends.

During the evening, Ellen spoke about Rambam‘s preparation for escalation in the north by opening the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital, the largest of its kind in the world. She also presented Joyce a commemorative coin of the famous rabbi, philosopher and physician, known as the Rambam, which included a quote, “Everyone entrusted with a mission is an angel.”

Special guest Nir Zelig, an IDF officer, spoke about his experience and his personal story of knowing a family who was tragically murdered on October 7.

It was an evening of strong solidarity for both Israel and Rambam Healthcare Campus; bringing together like minded young people for a night of great food, drinks, music and dancing. Everyone rejoiced in pride with a shared passion for supporting Israel in its time of need. American Friends of Rambam hopes this will be the first of many more young professional events.
