Holocaust Memorial – Rambam Mission
For the First Time a Rambam Delegation Participates in “The March of the Living” – Teaching us About the Sanctity of Life and the Need for Mutual Respect
The first of its kind, a delegation from Rambam Healthcare Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, will participate in the “March of the Living” in Poland; Jews, Muslims, and Christians, doctors, nurses, housekeeping staff, and management, unite in shared values.
Also reported in the Times of Israel, a large Rambam delegation, the first of its kind, left Israel to participate in Tuesday’s “March of the Living” in Poland. The delegation is being led by Professor Michael Halberthal, director general and CEO. Forty-eight members of a multicultural, religiously diverse group from all hospital divisions: doctors, nurses, and administrative and housekeeping staff are participating. The delegation will participate in the three-kilometer, silent march between Auschwitz and Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp complex built during World War II. They also toured Treblinka and Majdanek, two death camps, and other sites symbolizing the Holocaust across Europe.
“It is very moving to be a part of this event. Seeing it firsthand evokes deep feelings, but it is also exciting. The multi-denominational Rambam delegation, from all hospital divisions, is gaining a new-found perspective on contemporary Israel, the sanctity of life, humanity’s shared destiny, and the need for religious tolerance,” Professor Halberthal reports.
