
Injured Soldier Airlifted to Rambam During Minister of Health Haim Katz Visit to Rambam
March 24, 2026 – This morning, During the visit of Minister of Health Haim Katz, an IDF soldier injured in combat in Lebanon was brought to the Wagner-Green Emergency Room at Rambam Health Care Campus. The wounded soldier, whose condition was classified as moderate, received initial treatment.
Coincidently, the military helicopter that airlifted the injured soldier landed at the exact time that Minister of Health Haim Katz was touring Rambam, accompanied by Director General of the Ministry of Health Moshe Bar Siman Tov. The minister and director general, joined by Rambam Director General Dr. Michal Mekel, arrived at the underground emergency operations center at the moment of the helicopter’s landing and observed the evacuation through to the patient’s admission via the center’s control screens.
Minister Katz commended the Rambam team, which has absorbed the operations of three hospitals in the area, for its preparedness and its work in delivering high-quality medical care to patients.
“The system is operating with professionalism and cooperation that enable a high standard of response even in times of emergency. When we work together, we achieve results,” said Minister Katz. “I thank the medical staff and hospital leadership for their dedication and commitment to patients. We will continue to provide them with the full range of tools to carry out their work faithfully.”
Since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion, 23 soldiers have been evacuated to Rambam from the northern combat zone, and more than 200 civilians have been treated for war-related injurie
