Their Love was Sealed in Wartime
October 13, 2023 – Amid the war Tai and Kobi, residents of Kiryat Haim, north of Haifa, sealed their love and tied the knot at Rambam Health Care Campus on Friday.
Their wedding was scheduled for March next year, even though at a time like this a celebration is less appropriate, the couple did not have much of a choice. They wanted to ensure that Tai’s mother, who has been hospitalized at Rambam for an extended period would witness the marriage.
Without hesitation, Rambam staff helped organize the event. Sixty guests participated in this unusual celebration. The bride’s closest friend, Inbar, now serving on the frontline, joined in via video chat. The two friends are like sisters, and although Inbar could not attend, her heart was with Tai. The groom’s mother shared the celebration with her daughter, also serving in the field.
The wedding was emotional and with many mixed feelings. However, during these days of uncertainty, the couple managed to bring their family together to share in this very special moment, which brought to many joy and hope.
Rambam wishes Tai and Kobi Scharf every happiness in the future.
